The importance of psychological contract and communication in maintaining volunteer motivation

The article focuses on the importance of communication with volunteers at major sporting events and the preferences of communication methods in the period before and during the sporting event. It draws attention to the need for well-planned and well-chosen communication from the time volunteers sign up to participate in a sporting event until just before the event itself and the need to fulfil the psychological contract between the volunteer and the event organiser.
