Use of art techniques for seniors in a home with a special regime

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to present the possibilities of using well-known art techniques in seniors' artistic activities in a retirement home specialized in the care of clients with dementia. The paper is based od a bachelor´s thesis, in which attention was paid to individual art techniques described through specific project implemented in practice.

By observing clients during artistic activities, an inclusion of different art techniques into artworks of the special-needs nursing home residents was verified.

The conclusion  summarizes information acquired in practice by applying of different art-based approaches on seniors, and mentions benefits of the art activities for seniors with dementia.
