Focus and Scope

The mission of the scientific journal "Acta Salus Vitae"

The mission of the scientific journal "Acta Salus Vitae" is publishing of original peer-reviewed scientific papers in English. The journal is published 2 times a year with deadlines of 1st May and 1st November of the actual year. Scientific journal "Acta Salus Vitae" is the first scientific journal in the Czech and European environment presenting serious scientific results in the field of wellness. By publishing this scientific journal in the modern scheme of Web of Science we aim to create new scientific platform in the down defined base of wellness and its consequences in the area of health promotion and quality of life. Scientific platform of the journal is open for wellness problematic experts, e.g. pedagogues, educators, physicians, physiotherapists, physiologists, psychologists, coaches, etc. The platform of the scientific journal" Acta Salus Vitae" is determined in the thematic areas:

  • Scientific theoretical foundations of wellness, health and quality of life. Methodology of research in wellness. Philosophical and ethical principles.
  • Physical, mental, social, moral and economic aspects in relation to human health. Wellness in the environmental context. Wellness issues in the school and work environment. Intervention projects, applied research.
  • Wellness and lifestyle. Principles of protective and health nourishment. Sleep habits in relation to wellness and quality of life. Adequate exercise regime, adapted physical activities. Wellness programs and wellness procedures in relation to health benefits.

In antic the word "Salus" was used for Roman goddess as a personification of harmony, peace, health and prosperity. This word can be used in the new scientific context to express the content the modern concept of "wellness".  According the definition of WHO: “Wellness is the optimal state of health of individuals and groups. There are two focal concerns: the realisation of the fullest potential of an individual physically, psychologically, socially, spiritually and economically, and the fulfilment of one´s role in the family, community, place of worship, workplace and other settings.” – WHO (2000). We accept high-quality scientific works that have not yet been published and contain original and beneficial outputs. For detailed information on the submission process, please refer to the Submission section

Peer Review Process

Review process:

Each manuscript is assessed in an independent anonymous peer-review process by two reviewers, who work in a different institution than the author of the manuscript. In the case of a negative review, it is prepared a third one. The reviewer may recommend: to publish the manuscript, to publish the manuscript after the completion of corrections, to rework the article and to publish it after a new peer- review process. All reviews are archived.

The following criteria are always considered for each submission in the peer-review process:

  • Evaluation of topic in actual knowledge context.
  • Ethics aspects
  • Originality and scientific contribution and benefits.
  • Evaluation of methods, adequacy to solved problem
  • Fulfilment of aims and their interpretation
  • Evaluation of structure and comprehensibility of the text
  • Selection of references, their relevancy

Open Access Policy

Acta Salus Vitae is an Open Access journal which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles in this journal without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author. This is in accordance with the BOAI definition of open access.

Article submission charge or Article processing charge (is not required from authors - publishing is free of charge.
